Services / Minor carpentry
Loose trim, sagging shelves, and sticking doors squared away in a single visit.
Minor carpentry for Jackson, TN and the surrounding West Tennessee area — Madison County and the small towns in between — handled start-to-finish by Charles, one craftsman. One walk, one quote, one visit.
What’s included
The small woodwork Charles takes on.
- Trim and baseboard repair or replacement (loose, cracked, or missing pieces)
- Door casing and threshold fixes (gaps, drafts, scuffed or damaged trim)
- Shelf and cabinet hardware installation (new shelves, brackets, pulls, and hinges)
- Small wood repairs (squeaky floors, wobbly stairs, broken closet rods, and similar fix-ups)
When to call Charles
The baseboard that’s come loose in the hallway, the door casing that’s cracked where the latch used to hit, the shelf bracket that’s slowly peeled away from the wall, the closet rod that gave up last weekend — those are exactly the calls I take. Small interior woodwork rarely justifies a big contractor, but it rarely fixes itself, and Jackson homeowners have enough on the list without playing carpenter.
If the job has grown past a single visit — a full re-trim through the house, a built-in that needs new framing, a structural repair under a load-bearing wall — I’ll tell you on the walk and quote the bigger repair separately. Otherwise, expect one visit, materials matched to what’s already there, and a left-behind surface you can paint, stain, or finish on your own schedule.
Typical timing and materials
Most minor carpentry jobs wrap in a single visit.
A couple of hours to a half-day covers most small wood repairs — a length of trim reset, a door casing rehung, a shelf or two mounted, a closet rod swapped. Charles sources lumber, moulding, and hardware to match what’s already on the house; you approve the figure at the walk so there are no surprises on materials. Surfaces are left clean and ready to paint, stain, or finish — Charles does not paint, stain, or finish by default, so that step stays on your timeline.
Next step
Send the short version — Charles handles the rest.
A name, the address, and a short description of what the trim, casing, shelves, or other small woodwork is doing — a photo or two helps — is enough to get a real estimate back. Based in Jackson, Tennessee — covering Madison County and the surrounding West Tennessee area.
